Nation Duel Privacy Policy
Effective 15 October 2026 · applies to Nation Duel for Android (com.owlbright.nationduel)
Nation Duel is a quiz game: every day everyone gets the same 15 quick left-or-right duels about countries, and your score counts toward the world board of the country you play for. There are no accounts, no player names and no chat. The game connects to the internet for three things only: the anonymous daily score for the country board (our own server), ads (Google AdMob) and the optional Pro purchase (Google Play). This policy explains what happens in each case.

Data that stays on your phone
Your daily results (score, time, which duels you got right), your practice best, your daily streak, the archive days you unlocked, the country you play for, the time of the last ad, whether you own Pro, and your settings (sound, language) are saved in a file inside the app's own storage on your phone. When you tap Share after a duel, the game only copies a short text (duel number, your score, time and colored squares) to your phone's clipboard; you decide where to paste it.
Daily score for the country board (our server)
After you finish the daily duel, the game sends one small record to our server at owlbrightstudio.com over an encrypted connection (HTTPS):
- the day of the duel, your score, how many duels you got right and your total time;
- the two-letter code of the country you play for (taken from your phone's language region, and you can change it in Settings);
- a random installation ID created by the game (32 random characters). It is not your advertising ID, not a phone ID and not linked to your name or Google account; it only stops one installation from sending two scores on the same day. It changes if you reinstall the game or clear its storage.
The server uses your IP address only to limit how many scores one network can send per day; it stores a one-way hash of the IP address with a key that changes every day, never the address itself. We do not collect your name, email address, location or contacts. The server only publishes totals: the number of players per country, each country's average score and a score histogram. Records are deleted automatically after 60 days. If you are offline, the score waits on your phone and is sent the next time you open the game.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
If you do not own Pro, the game shows ads through Google AdMob: never during or right after the daily duel, a full-screen ad only when you leave a practice result (never in your first 3 practice rounds, at least 2 minutes apart), and a short video only when you choose to watch one, for example to unlock a past day or for a 24-hour Pro pass. To deliver ads, measure them and prevent fraud, the Google Mobile Ads SDK in the game collects and sends to Google:
- your device's advertising ID and app set ID;
- your IP address, which may be used to estimate your general location;
- interactions with the app and its ads, such as app launches, taps and video views;
- diagnostic information, such as app launch time, hang rate and energy use.
This data is encrypted in transit. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland the game first shows Google's consent message, so you decide whether ads may be personalised. You can change your choice at any time under Settings > Ad privacy choices. Everywhere, you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's Android settings. Google processes this data under its own privacy policy; see how Google uses information from apps that use its services and Google's privacy policy.
Purchases (Google Play)
Nation Duel Pro is a one-time purchase handled entirely by Google Play. The game asks Google Play whether you own Pro and stores the answer on your phone. We never see your name, email address or payment details. Google processes purchase data under Google's privacy policy. With Pro, the game shows no ads. Pro never changes your score in the daily duel.
Legal bases (GDPR)
- Daily score for the country board: legitimate interest in running the shared board you take part in, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
- Personalised advertising: your consent, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR.
- Non-personalised ads, ad measurement and fraud prevention, which fund the free version: legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
- Checking and restoring a Pro purchase: performance of a contract, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.
Where data is processed and for how long
Data on your phone stays there until you uninstall the game or clear its storage. Daily score records are stored on our web host (owlbrightstudio.com) and deleted after 60 days. Google may process ad and purchase data on servers outside your country, including outside the European Union, and keeps it for the periods described in Google's privacy policy.
Delete your data
- Data on your phone: uninstall Nation Duel, or clear its storage in Android settings. Your Pro purchase is kept by Google Play and can be restored with Restore purchase in Settings or on the Pro screen.
- Daily scores on our server: they are deleted automatically after 60 days. To have them deleted sooner, open Settings > Privacy in the game, copy your installation ID and email it to privacy@owlbrightstudio.com; we delete every record with that ID within 30 days.
- Advertising data: reset or delete your advertising ID in Android settings, and in the EEA, UK or Switzerland withdraw consent under Settings > Ad privacy choices.
Your rights
You can ask for access to, correction or deletion of your data, restriction of processing and data portability, object to processing, and withdraw consent at any time. Because our server only holds a random installation ID and scores, we need that ID (Settings > Privacy) to find your records. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.
Age
Nation Duel is meant for players aged 13 and over and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If your country sets a higher age for consenting to personalised ads, ask a parent before you agree.
Changes
We will update this page when the game's data use changes and show the new effective date above.

- den Tag des Duells, deine Punkte, die Zahl richtiger Duelle und deine Gesamtzeit;
- den zweistelligen Code des Landes, für das du spielst (aus der Sprachregion deines Handys, in den Einstellungen änderbar);
- die Werbe-ID und App-Set-ID deines Geräts;
- deine IP-Adresse, aus der der ungefähre Standort geschätzt werden kann;
- Interaktionen mit der App und den Anzeigen, etwa App-Starts, Tipps und Videoaufrufe;
- Personalisierte Werbung: deine Einwilligung, Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. a DSGVO.
